1950 New York Woman's Bowling Association Rip Van Winkle Medal Plaque Bronze

1950 Medal / Paperweight issued by the New York Woman's Bowling Association.  Struck in Bronze by the Whitehead Hoag Company, it is 2 1/2" x 4" inside.   The artist is Jim Daniels. 


The obverse shows a scene of Rip Van Winkel sleeping beneath a tree with his long rifle propped next to him.  Below is "Rip Van Winkel's Dream" with "New York State Woman's Bowling Association Convention and Tournament - Kingston 1950".  The edge is stamped "Whitehead-Hoag".

The reverse is blank with two ball feet.

The medal has a bit of verdigris on the obverse, as well as a touch of rubbing wear in the highest points of the design.  There is discoloration from some old stickers in the blank space at the bottom of the obverse.

There is some mottling on the reverse.
